About Catherine DeJesus, LCSW

Catherine DeJesus, licensed mental health therapist in Savannah, Georgia

Therapist, Advocate, and Owner of Way Station Counseling

I’m Catherine DeJesus, a licensed mental health therapist based in Savannah, Georgia. Before entering clinical practice, I spent more than twenty years working in nonprofit advocacy, supporting individuals and families navigating complex systems and life challenges.

My background includes advocacy work with adolescents in foster care, families of incarcerated individuals, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. This experience continues to shape my approach to therapy — one that centers dignity, autonomy, and lived experience.

Education & Clinical Training

I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Temple University in 2014. Since then, I have pursued ongoing training in evidence-based therapy modalities to provide effective, ethical mental health care.

My clinical approach integrates Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and polyvagal-informed therapy. These approaches allow me to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs and goals.

My Approach to Therapy

I believe therapy works best when it is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in trust. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all solutions, I partner with clients to explore patterns, strengthen self-awareness, and develop practical tools for change.

Therapy with me is a space to be honest, curious, and human — whether you are processing past experiences, managing present stressors, or preparing for future transitions.

Comfortable therapy room with soft lighting and natural elements in Savannah counseling office

The Therapy Environment

My office on the southside of Savannah was intentionally designed to feel calm, welcoming, and private. The space is warm and comfortable, with thoughtful details that help clients settle in and exhale. Soft lighting, natural elements, and a quiet setting create an environment where you can speak openly and feel at ease. The therapy room is soundproofed to protect your confidentiality, and both in-person and virtual sessions are available to meet your needs. My hope is that from the moment you walk in, you experience this space as a steady, supportive pause in your day.
