Therapist in Savannah, GA
Compassionate, Affirming Counseling at Way Station Counseling
Welcome to Way Station Counseling — a place to rest, unburden, explore, heal, and grow. If you are seeking a therapist in Savannah, GA who offers thoughtful, identity-affirming care, you are in the right place.
I’m Catherine DeJesus, a licensed mental health therapist and the owner of Way Station Counseling, LLC. I provide psychotherapy for adults and adolescents ages 14 and older, offering a collaborative and supportive space to navigate life’s challenges.
Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship stress, identity exploration, or major life transitions, therapy can offer a meaningful pause — a place to regain clarity and move forward with intention.
Therapy Rooted in Experience, Empathy, and Evidence
My therapeutic approach is grounded in empathy, respect, and evidence-based practices. I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and polyvagal-informed care to support emotional regulation, resilience, and long-term well-being.
Clients often seek therapy to better understand themselves, manage overwhelming emotions, and develop healthier patterns. Together, we work toward sustainable growth that aligns with your values.
Affirming & Inclusive Mental Health Care
Way Station Counseling is a safe, nonjudgmental, and affirming therapy practice. I honor and respect all identities, including those shaped by race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, neurodiversity, and body diversity.
I recognize the profound impact of systemic oppression, marginalization, and chronic stress on mental health. My goal is to provide therapy that is both clinically effective and culturally responsive, supporting you as your whole self.
A Place to Pause on Your Journey
The name “Way Station” means a stopping point along a journey. This practice was intentionally created to be a place where you can pause, reflect, and restore before continuing forward.
Located on the southside of Savannah, my office offers a warm, private environment where all emotions are welcome. In-person therapy sessions are available, along with secure virtual therapy for clients throughout Georgia.
